Our Approach To Learning
Back To Basics understands that students have different learning styles. What works for one student may or may not work for another. Research has proven that students learn best when given instructional material based upon their individual level of ability and understanding. Key findings of a report from the Carnegie Corporation and the Alliance for Excellent Education indicate that 70% of middle and high school students require differentiated instruction.
Differentiated instruction (sometimes referred to as differentiated learning) is a more effective way of thinking about teaching and learning. It is designed to enhance learning for all students by engaging them in activities that respond to their particular learning needs, strengths, and preferences. It is equally as effective in addressing the needs of gifted or high-achieving students as well as students with special needs. Our program at Back To Basics offers students that opportunity by providing an individualized instruction plan specifically targeted to a student's academic needs.
